the rock...671!!!
i came home today and found my 5in GT swimming around upside down!!! i though he was dead at first, but he's still alive. moved him to the med tank, but i can't find any visible signs of disease (finrot, ick, fungus...etc)!!! water para. are: ph 7.0, nitrites 0ppm, and nitrates 20ppm (the usual for this tank) can anyone help me identify this? symptoms are, disorientation (swims sideways or upside down, mostly lies on the bototm of the tank), discoloration (he's grey now), no appetite, and his anus is red. i'm thinking someting internal, no signs of dropsy (thankfully) i have no idea what kind of meds to give, applied mel/perma fix and salt, what else can i do?

The red anus usually means nematodes or flagellates, both of which can sometimes effect the swimbladder, If you can look at the feces, sometimes you will see tiny worms, eggs, or that it is yellowish , clear or white. If this is true treat with a mix of Praziquantel and metronidazole, since it is not eating treat the water, Jungles Parasite Clear Tank buddies should work. If the feces appear normal it is probaly bacterial and you will want to use Tri-Sulfa or Maracyn Plus.

thanks guppy, you are the man!!! i have the maracyn plus, but i'll have to check my lfs if they got the other stuff. he has not had any feces as of yet (since i found him upside down) again, thanks for the help
