i come home for work yesterday and found my vampire dead, not sure what cause the death water parameter are good and the other fish in the tank are ok, it measured 7 inches so i not sure if was due to old age or due to over eating (its belly was swollen).

the belly can swell for a few reasons, aswell as it happening after the fish has died. what were you feeding it? it would be about fully grown. how long you had it though?

What were the water params? It wouldn't have been old age, vampires reach a max size of 10", although I have heard of a couple bigger.

depends which "vampire" pleco it is. i heard L241 is smaller than the L007 and 29, and if it isnt a galaxias, and is heterodon that would be about bang on

Yeah L241 only gets to be around 8". But those are fairly uncommon, least in the northwest part of the US.

lol. i doubt it would be overeating too. ive never had a pleco get near overfed, and i feed tonnes. they crap quicker than they can get fat

Boy is that the truth. I'm going to go look at another L190 in the 4" range today, and a papa in the 3" range.
