flow rate will depend mainlly on the size and type of UV filter you run. The longer/more exposure the water gets, the more efficient the filter will be. too much, and it won't do anything.. too little, and you probabbly just be heating up the water...
when i went on the website to buy 1..i came across all different kinds..such as Aqua Ultraviolet Sterilizer with wiper and 1 widout (what's the difference?), Lifegard Ultraviolet Sterilizer Modules, Gamma Uv Sterilizer, Angstrom, In-line Filters, and twist UV sterilizer...which 1 am i supposed to get? and how many watt? 8?
yeah 8 watts i would go with the wipper because you can clean it every month without taking it off. just be careful when you pull it (slowly) coz it's glass. i have a 25w on my 180 gal tank. reason for going bigger is that my flow rate is high.
