Be honest now, what would be the priority when push comes to shove ; Quantity or Quality??
Would you rather pack your tank with cool collections or would you rather have that single specimen that no one else has??
No bashing please.. this is not a right or wrong thread. Its more of a " We want to hear your opinion " thread.
I usually get the fish that i really like ,even if they are expensive and it takes me piece by piece. But if push comes to shove ,say 4 quality datnoids against 1 stellar perfect bar , high yellow AAA quality, i would go for 4.
showtank in the livingroom or dining room should have a cool lively collection
a single specimen with personality in my bedroom

Definetly Quality. Theres a difference between 10 tanks filled with mollies and algea
and 1 tank stocked with a nice Arowana.

I like quality over quantity nearly everytime. Give me a perfect fish over 4 decent ones for it anyday.
I do like nice collections but I would rather have a few super nice fish than 10 alright ones.

I think everyone should have one tank with one show-grade fish or breeding pair. So, everyone with more than one tank should send your excess tanks and inventory to me for proper disposal.

Haha, nice try oddball, don't you have enough already, you already make most of our tank collections look sad.
Personally I like quality. I will go through batches of fish and wait a long time sometimes for certain fish, that is a really good represenative of the species.

I normally go for quality, but I'm afraid I have been on a quantity binge lately with my recent acquisitions (4 widebars and looking for more)

quality when it is available, but quantity. if the specimens are even more rare than the quality. Both is GOOD :)

I would go with quantity. I like every one of my fish for 1 reason or another. The crappiest looking fish sometimes have the best personality. But i do usually try to get the best quality specimen of whatever it is I am buying
Most recently I paid 24 dollars for 3 unid peacock bass instead of dropping 25 plus shipping on a tem and I couldn't be happier

hmmm
I always like to go with quality...
But things like pbass and datnoids I go quantity...because nothing is better than a pack of those fish.
I suppose with me it depends on the fish...some fish are boring on their own.

I'd take one perfect fish over a group of subpar fish any day. That's what I'm trying to do with my new tank.
