Hi.:)

I dont really know a lot about plecs. I am thinking about a plec for the big tank but don't know what is suitable for the tank and its mates. I would like something colourful, quite hardy, but most importantly, that it stands its own ground in front of my giraffe.

Thanks :)

Carl.

What are you looking for when you say colorful? An L025 will stand its ground, and colorful. There are many options.

is this colorful enough? but they only get to like 12 inches :(

the last one is Hypostomus Luteus. I can get one at 14-16 inches for $550 :hitting:

L025 looks nice, i had a look on Planet Catfish. Its certainly an attractive fish and sounds like it stands its ground territorialy. I may add another piece of bogwood if i do to split the territories up a bit. The goldie looks a fine plec too though.:)

$550, i dont think so :hitting: Bit much isn't it.

Any other ideas??

Cheers, Carl.

you could try a GN, but a few people are finding them hard to keep when little, and probably costs a bit. Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps?dunno if youd say they were that colourful, but a big ones dorsal fin might look cool. you could get an albino pretty cheap too. heres a thread on monster plecs if your looking for big ones, but i think an L025 would look cool - http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31564
