He was kept alone. these are pics of my last briareus octopus he was in a 30 gallon tank and was about 10 inches from tentical to tentical I had him for about 6 months (nasty filter problem). I'll get a few pics of my current octopus (much smaller).

thats so cool. octos are just amazing animals. do you give it any puzzle type stuff for it to work out (like getting food). cool pics!

So you don't have him anymore? Well, then I guess it would be pointless to give you crap about having him in a 30gal huh. LOL Anyways, what octo do you have now, and what's your set up? I noticed you had some LR and a few corals in the other tank, but obviously couldn't see the whole deal, so fill me in - How much LR are you holding, and what size tank is your new one going to be in (or already in)? And what supplements are you giving? Just curious. ;)

A few of my current octopus.

The filteration on my set up is massive, and updates are planned. he is only about 3 1/2in
long so if i were to put him in a 55g I would never see him. 30lbs of live rock, 10 lbs of live sand and a large canister filter are in my tank. no corals just a lot of coraline algea. I use RO water and use high quality salt. about 1watt per gallon. a nice dawn dusk type thing. My octopsu is in a very good home and is fed only the best live crabs shrimp and snails

Sounds like you really put lots of effort into keeping your octo happy. Good job:thumbsup:

I have been wanting to keep one of these guys for a while but i'm having a hard time deciding if $50 bucks is worth spending on something that will die preaty quick. How often do you do water changes on your tank?

Wow, Very Cool. If I ever did a "True Marine Tank", I would make it so I could house one of these Monsters.
