How fast do Peacock bass grow? i have three that are around 2.5 inches. they are all in a 30 gallon for now and they will be transfered to a 125 once they are too big and wont get eaten. then they are finally going to be moved to a 240 gallon aquarium.

they are very fast growers. expect a few inches a month.

also- a 240 wont last for life, you will need larger.

Has anyone seen any full-sized green terrors lately? The last time I saw one was about ten years ago. It was atleast 12 inches long. Now I never see them over 6 inches long.

Some dude dropped one off at my work in a bucket, then hauled ass outta there.
He was at least 9-10".
He he is crucially all bent up from being in a tank that was WAY too small for him for too long.

show GTs only sell for 75 bucks?! lol weak! man the fish itself must eat that much in food and electric bills over the years to hit that size.

I think its a hybrid of Intermedia and ocelleris because these bass do not have more than 3 stripes.

Got them from a farm in Malaysia... so probably hybridized...

That blue is a sheen typically seen on most cichla.. the quality of the blue varries from specimen to specimen.

THat is one of the new "Spaff's" that hit the market around a year ago or so..

Cichla sp. aff. Orinocensis, I believe is what Jeff Rapps had it tagged as, then Red1 (online Cichla man) made up the nick "Spaff"

That is NOT one of the smallest species, Its the second largest.. Its just another color morph of Orinocensis.. Once that fish gets more size, it will lose its awesome speckling and start turning out more like a normal Orino.

good luck... awesome fish, lets pray he keeps most of the gold colors!
