Do you guys thinkt its worth to buy a african lungfish (Protopterus annectens) wich is 1 ft long and costs 50$?

fair deal... if you actually want a lungfish and are in the capacity to keep it, that is.

Seems a fair price, just be sure to reasearch and understand what you're getting into -Anne
okey i have booked it now so i will get it in about a week :D
hope it will eat alot and grow to a big and mean fish :)

It should get close to 3 feet and African lungfish can be generaly intolerant of tankmates -Anne

be careful they can bite mines got me a couple of times while doing water changes be sure to keep a cover on tank
okey can anyone tell me a little bit about them, like how they are in the tank and if they are any fun at all? :P

Temp: 75° to 85°
ph:6.9-7.4
4° to 6° DH
Dorsal side olive or brown colored, ventral side lighter; great blackish or brownish spots on the body and fins except on the belly.Tanks must have secure lids
keep with only fish you don't care about being eaten caution when handling they have an incredible bite, Like many fish they will learn to beg for food.Feeding
Live foods : guppies , rosey red minnows, ghost shrimp, earthworms
frozen: bloodworms, mysis shrimp,brine shrimp , krill, squid and frozen silversides
some will take pellets, lean meaty foods such as beefheart are good too
but you need to balance their diet for nutrition so vary the diet, not just one
thing

my boss has had one for 13 years. its huge. real friendly. you can pick him up or pet him on the side. just don't pet him on the head, he'll think you're food!

I hear from far too many people that they behave like dead logs 90% of the time. Therefore, I won't ever be getting one.

Hey there fella how big is your tank ? and what other fish you planning on keeping with the lung?
got a 100gal tank for him to grow in right now and he will get a bigger tank when he needs one
I dont know any fishes that might get along with him cuz they are evil and got strong jaws, anyone that keeps other fish with their lungfish?

I will get him in 2 weeks if I want him, might get a RTCF or a Perunichthys peruno both 1ft long, the guy wants me to give him an offer and i dont know how much to offer him for the catfishes, what do you think?

haha but i want a RTCF the most because its beautiful but the Perunichthys peruno is cool also and the guy want me to give him an offer so im asking you guys how much i should give him for the Perunichthys peruno or RTCF at 1ft each :P

I think that sounds abit too expensive for the Perunichthys peruno ;)

you did say that it was a metre long didn't you ??? over here for a fish that size that is quite cheep

no they were 1ft long that is about 30cm m8 :P
