i'm wondering if royal pleco's are rare i can't find any anywhere i've been to lfs and petsmarts and could you tell me a good price for one if i have too order one?

they are not rare but can be hard to find in some places. I find them all the time in my area for around $35.00 for a 4.5" fish
most lfs should be able to order them in. in general. depends where you live and how good your lfs is though to how much it will cost. i have noticed a decline in seeing them in the shops though, they used to be around all the time... now you gotta order them. maybe because they often die when young as are quite sensitive

well, L027 - if you look them up on planetcatfish to make sure they are the one you want (there are a few royals) they are all panaque sp. and then they all come in different colours and patterns and rivers. search Panaque cf. nigrolineatus or just Panaque nigrolineatus. most lfs should understand royal or an L number, but sometimes you end up with something unexpected
Oh! As for getting them, I did what Davo suggested to get mine. Have your local fish store order one. That will pass on some combined shipping charges to them by getting your fish in with their usual shipment instead of paying $25-$30 overnight to get one fish delivered to your door.

i went to planetcatfish and got a pretty good idea of which one's i was thinking about what can you tell me about L191,L190,red fin royal,golden line royal,L027b or olive royal.?
