UK MFK FISHING TRIP !!!

Here it is guy’s a UK MFK first!

Four lakes totalling 170 pegs in Sherwood Forest alongside the River Maun catering for all types of angler.

• Easy access to most pegs by car with the maximum walk being just 80 metres.
• Hot and cold drinks from the bailiff’s cabin.
• Breakfasts and snacks from the Farm Park Tea Room.
• Toilet and washing facilities also at the Tea Room.
• Open all year, 7am to dusk.
• Adults 1 rod £4 2 rods £6
• Under 16s 1 rod £3 2 rods £5

And the Lake we will be fishing on is

Sherwood Lake
Sherwood is our largest lake with 64 pegs on 4¾ acres. It’s S shaped and reed fringed with fishing from both sides. Depths range from 3ft at peg 1 in front of the bailiff’s cabin on the field side to 5½ ft. at peg 45 on the roadside. There are 14 different species in the lake including carp to 20lbs, tench to 6lbs, roach and orfe to 2lbs and bream to 4lbs. The match record is nearly 80lbs whilst there have been many pleasure nets of over 100lbs!
There are lots of islands, bars, lilies and reeds etc. except between pegs 42-66, but this is where the bream live.

The same tactics as on Cavendish work at Sherwood but the best results usually come on the pole with worm, paste or meat over a bed of carp pellets or hemp.

Regular open and club matches are run on this lake, and it’s the only one on which you can use your keepnet for pleasure fishing.

I’ll need to know everyone who is defiantly coming by MONDAY 21st AUGUST 2006 so i can call them let them know how many is in our party and reserve our pegs so we are all together

NO CASH IS NEEDED UP FRONT FROM ANY MEMBER YOU PAY ON YOUR ARRIVAL.

MEETING TIME for all members we suggest the time between 07.00am and 08.00am anyone else who comes after that would have to ask at the bailiff’s cabin as to where we are situated. I will be there early to meet and greet members.

DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO GET THERE Take the A60 out of Mansfield then join the A6075 signposted Edwinstowe. At the Warsop crossroads turn right signposted Clipstone and Sherwood Forest Farm Park. 200 yards on the right turn into the Farm Park entrance signposted Fishing and follow the signs down the lane.

yeah i just been out and bought some new kit today too !!!

Here's what i bought:

1x Drennan peacock waggler 2.0g inserted!
1x Preston Innovations 8g pellet waggler ( cost me £3 :eek: )
2x Loaded Giant crystal inserted&straight waggler 1.0g
1x size 14 Drennan barbless hooks
1x size 14 drennan Barbless wide gape hooks
1x packet of silicone float attachments

Bait i picked up was:

2x Ground bait
1pt of red maggots
1pt of hemp
1pt of casters
1x large box of dendrabeana worms
1x tin of sweet corn
1x un cut loaf of white bread

I can't go far wrong with this list !!!

Wow guy's the fishing trip was AWSOME!!!

Stotty, what a legend, the carp MASTER !!!

we had just under 50lbs of fish at the end of the day, stotty been the main carp catcher, Dixon what a guy !!! he pulled a nice big roach and a good bream, among other fish, George ( Pufferextream) turned up as well as Dan from tropical imports,

The day started off very slow we were very disapointed at first, but come 3pm it got better, MUCH BETTER!!! i pulled in 2 mirror carps one of them about 1.5 to 2 lbs then another which was about 2.5 to 3lbs i had other fish as well but they were much smaller than the carps, stotty was just pulling out carp which were about 8lb a go, and a nice fat double maybe 12lb,

Any way i'm gonna rap this up as i'm really tired just got in, i will post picks up tomorrow and i'm sure the rest of the guys who came along will do the same.

OH AND I LOST MY BLOODY PELLET WAGGLER FLOAT ...... :cry:

I would just like to say thanks to Dan and Dixon for arranging the trip I had a great day and it was nice to see the faces behind the key boards. I think we have a least 1 new carp angler amongst us now and one new pole angler. I’m off to work now on this wet Bank Holiday but I leave you Dan with one last message TROUT PELLET.:naughty:

I made it, got up at 3.00am, left house at 3.15 arriving at the lake around 6.30am.
Left the lake about 8.30pm and got home just before midnight absolutly f***ed. Was great day. I caught first two fish out before Dan even turned up :naughty: but that was the end of my luck :cry:
Meet some great guys, all really friendly and those that didnt come missed out!! Had great day, even when suffering with bad head for a bit.
Will post my pics abit later as im still not awake and still got a thick head.
Oh and stotty, Nick caught a nice mirror just after you left so obvious what you was telling him worked :headbang2 and skid caught a bag that looked like it was full of cr*p (dont worry, I got picks :D Also Skid said you forgot your droppers mate, so when you come down weeley can retreave them :)

I just want to say a big thanks to all the guy's who turned up, we had loads of fun and a great haul at the end of it these memorys will stick with me forever.

I got home about 11.30pm then got up at 6 for work but as I said what a great day I am really up for another one perhaps we could get Dixon to arrange a bit of sea fishing next. Get a few of us and hire a boat for the day.

I'm definatly up for another trip, meeting you guy's and learning a thing or two from the Master obe wan stotty was great, although i lost an expensive float as you said Paul, it's served it's purppose it reeled me in my first ever Carp.

Oh and our lass isn't happy with you paul, because now i wanna get rigged up with all the carp equipment... lol, but i think i'll wait until next year to get all that.

i got home around 10ish and went to bed absolutlely knackered.
it was well worth it though i evenjoyed myself no end met some fantastic people and learned a lot.
