Okay, this one might be a hard one to sort out. For the past two days my female motoro started acting strange and stopped eating, and was a lot more skittish. normally the male and female are both very active and not shy at all, the male is the same and the female has changed drastically.

They've both been eating very well and have nice thick tails so i know i still have some time. I think my female motoro has swallowed something sharp, possibly a glass shard that chipped off of the cover glass. I was observing her behaviour and she's still fairly active but very skittish, and when she swims up the sides i noticed her anus looked like she was maybe constipated and it looked a bit bloody? and i saw a bit of her poop that looked a bit bloody too, but i'm not 100% sure. The males anus looks completely white and normal.

Is there any thing I can do to help her? Is she a goner? Will she be able to pass whatever is cutting her insides and heal from it?? Very worried at the moment..

I guess you have 2 options.

Continue with your normal schedule and hope it comes it by itself as if it was a swallowed hook.

Get some epsom salt into your system and make your ray crap out everything hoping that it clears whatever is doing damage inside as well.

how is epsom salt used or how do you dose it?
will it affect the other fish? severums and a red scat

Toby's right, check these parameters!
Also why are you keeping Brackish fish in a freshwater tank?,Scats should be kept brackish ...even full marine, they have a tendency to nip also, not a good choice of tank mate for your rays.
Good luck.
Ps
2-3 level teaspoons of epsom salts per gallon will help with constipation and at that level is safe for most fish.

What size are you male and female? Could there be any breeding taking place? Usually rays are pretty good about sifting through what to eat and what not too so I wouldn't think it would have swallowed any glass unless it was very small and food was attached to it.

Just to be sure..do a full water check, especially PH and Nitrate, they can shift over time.

Yup did a water test and params are all good.

The scat is tiny atm and was always kept in FW, was under the impression they prefer brackish at a larger size although I have seen some grow very large in FW.

The rays are still very young, Males about 15cm across and female 20cm.

Her condition has improved, haven't had a chance to inspect her under side, but her colours back strong and eating again and very active. She might have pooped it out if she had of swallowed it.

Will still be keeping a very close eye on her for a few days :)

thanks for all the help thus far!!
