I've just began thought on my next project. My dream 180g tank fell through, but I'm not upset. So, I'm planning on picking up a 90g setup soon. I want discus to be the main focus, but a few other fish roaming the tank. I haven't decided on filtration yet, but I know UV is definetly on the list of things to buy. I'll probably get 5-6 small discus and grow them out. The other focus in the tank is going to be one of two catfish-B.Juruense or M.Tigrinus. Now, I want to keep the pH around 6.4-6.8. Would either of the pim's have a tough time adjusting? Just to list the other fish I want to keep: 3-4 Dennisoni Barbs, a Pleco of some sort, and maybe a bicher. ANy problems?

Also, I'm pretty new to discus. While I know the basics, I want to learn more before I take the plunge. Can anyone recommend any good web references for me to catch up on?

I don't know of any web pages but I owned two discus for 2 years ( red snakeskin and a red marlboro discus) and all I can say is they stress extremely easily. Even when I cleaned the tank or did water changes they would start breathing hard and ouldn't eat for a day. You have to constantly check the water and temp. Reminds me of taking care of saltwater fish.
