Found this on the net a while back, i sure wouldnt do this to my p, but owners have removed the lips to better show off the rack of teeth, i did have one p wandering around with a feeder hanging out his mouth, another p took feed lips and all, they grew back like in a week, p can really heal up fast with no scar

Yet another stupid thing people do to fish just to make it look better for them. Maybe sum1 should cut off thier lips so we can see thier teeth and see how they like it :D

i can see it being a novelty with the local fisherman now and then but that's just messed if guys are doing it for their tanks at home.

it happens quite frequently in home aquariums. Either way, I think it's sick (and not in a good way)

Either way, I think it's sick (and not in a good way) absolutley, also these are not vets doing the surgery, if they would go a little deep the fish could lose there teeth and would be unable to hunt or feed, i feel stupid for posting it, hope no one tries it.

on the real i think the piranhas look even more KILLER wid no lips :SaiyanSmi
I don't think it's cool to do things like this to animals just for our own satisfaction, however does anyone think this is similar to cropping dogs ears and tails, or declawing a cat? I think pirahnas are cool enough already,

Yea but thats usually done by a vet in a clinical situation. but on the other hand your right, its just modifying your pet to your liking

i dont see a problem with cropping ears and tails, because its done by a vet and its not taking anything away from the animal. declawing a cat is but the cat doesnt need his claws because it isnt catching food in the wild. but what the people did to that piranha was just stupid. the thing doesnt have lips to protect its teeth and from stuff going in his mouth now. just so they can see its teeth better :eek:
