View Full Version : looking for a red fish, suggestions please..
hey guys, i'm looking for a really nice, striking and predominantly red fish that grows to at least 12".. it could be either ancient fishes, cichlids, characins anything but it has to have very nice red colors.. any suggestions? :feedback:
Some of the flowerhorn cichlids have lots of red. If you don't mind a dark shade of orange, get a midas or red devil. All of these are full of personality.

Red Texas look awesome but I have never seen one live, and the prices I saw are just insane.

Hahaha
No red ones but I am sure feeding them lots of krill and shrimp would make the snook turn red.

I like the orange pike... have found them once or twice but sometimes you can get a pet store to special order them... I will only special order if they quarantine for at least a week though...
so far i'm liking the female festae and the pikes.. the only problem i have with the festae is i heard they like to rearrange gravel around the tank.. so i'm thinking pike but i've been looking for pikes that get the awesome red coloration but the only ones available here are the johanna's and red cincta's.. although i'm not yet 100% sure that these are cincta's though, they might be just johannas as well.. do johanna's get striking red coloration?
