Jag and festae cichlids: How to tell male or female?

Not 100% sure on the jags, But the Festae:
Males are a nice green/brown color,
Females are red/brown with black stripes
From what I know the females are usually more nasty then the males.(correct me if Im wrong)

Ive seen R.Terrors color up at around 6-10cm.

Male Managuense will have a pattern different than female...more complete. They will also have a pattern in their unpaired fins.
Female Festae have a black blotsh in the front of their dorsal fin.
Female Festae have a black blotsh in the front of their dorsal fin.
