Well, after over a year of searching, I finally found a Mbu puffer. He is very small, about 3", and already eats like a pig... About 15 minutes out of the box, and he was eating and following me around the room. Just wanted to share some pics with you all, he is soooo cute :)
hes awsome! u got a lil monster on your hands there

Nice little mbu you have there. You have just a little guy. What all are you feeding him?
I just got a 6in one the other day.

Right now he gets krill, mussels, clams and some small snails that were hanging in one of my growouts. I have plenty of snails/cockels/shelled clams etc...for him but he is so small he needs to grow more before he can handle the thougher shells.
He has been expected for a long time, so don't worry he gets the best of the best ;)
nice pickup man. Always wanted one, but just cant seem to find em.
u keeping him with any tank mates?

I had 4 tinfoil barbs waiting for him in there, but since he was smaller than expected the tinfoils were a little big (about 6")...so yesterday I bought 4 irridescent sharks, a little smaller than him. They are in another tank right now, just want to watch for signs of parasites before I add them with the Mbu. Maybe later today I'll see. He will be happy, since now all alone in there he looks a little bored.

Looking good man.. Be careful with the type of snails you give the MBU I believe Trumpet snails shells are too hard for them. I don't know what type of snails you gave him I only say this because you say he is too small to handle the tougher shells right now so I thought maybe you had given him one.. GOod luck
Nice Mbu Cyclop3000. Some very dark markings on him, are they always that dark or does he lighten up a bit?

That's his "standard" color, he light up a bit here and there, depending on his mood. Whenever I drop food in the tank he gets back to the "dark" colors.
He's so cute...hehe.
Thanks all for the good comments!!

Feed him a cray. Fed mine one today, it was so cool. He even knew to avoid the front even though I took the claws off.

Great thread...... I'm am also in the process of trying to aquire one or two.... I have larger tanks for future growth so that's not an issue. My question is can you keep more than one together in a tank? Even in a growout tank? Thanks.

Cyclops you guys are so lucky in Quebec getting all the rare stuff we never get mbu's here in T.O nor do we get snakeheads like you guys...How much did you pay for that mbu, did you get it in the montreal big Al's?
