Hi' all, I just wanted to know what tankmates I can put with a 2-3" bleekeri? one that would last its entire lifetime...Cichlids only please But doesnt have to be necessarily african cause i read that they can get along with some CA's, juvy years that is, experiences would be welcome..:D thanks

I've raised/bred both the bleeks and pols. I just got rid of my last pair a few months ago. In general bleeks get along well with fish that do not look like them (ie other bleeks/pols). Some of my best combos have been haps (P. phenochilus, O.lithobates and the like). As for CA/SA I have tried sevrums, firemouths, stienys, nics, neets, a female jag, and a texas. Not all at one time or all in the same tank. I would avoid red devils trimacs, red terrors and such. Bleeks have a unique personality, and are a pleasure to keep.

thanks yooper, they do have a unique personality kind of nocturnal and they are big eaters..I'm still growing mine out and I might put it with my CA's when it's the same size..

Yeah my last male was like a bottomless pit when it came to eating worms or pellets. He was also very when I had the lights on (begging for food). Good luck.

What did you decide on putting in with him?
