Do you know i'm jealous you guys over in the states have some of the worlds most beautiful fish in your local rivers and streams, ponds and lakes and you get to catch them and keep them and over here in the UK the fish you catch in the states would proberbly cost us an arm and a leg in our LFS.

Don't get me wrong we do have some beautiful fish in our canals and rivers and ponds lakes but i haven't heard of anyone over here catching our native Pearch, Mullet or Rudd or Tench and keeping them in aquariums.

Here's some info on Mullet and Pic's check it out i'm trying to find som other pic's of UK native fish.

Nice looking large female. I have a small male that looks great but am considering getting rid of him due to his nasty disposition. Is that a bocourti I see? If so, where did you get him?

Yep, there is a bocourti in the background. It grows so fast, and it is 6" now.
BTW, I got it from Jeff Rapps.

Awesome! I just lost my female....:(...she was almost 4". Had to put her down..long story...really bummed me out though. Sorry you lost yours! Gotta love them! One of the more personable SA cichlids....also quite possible they most stunning and colorful, male and female...:D I am tempted to get some more, hopefully if i keep them in a larger tank i will be able to keep other fish with them. i was thinkin of puttin at least a female in a 300gal with some of my other cichlids. Dunno how it will work though. Might have to dedicate my 125 to them instead....AWESOM! Rapps is tight! I got my Hoplarchus psittacus from him! VERY VERY pleased with them!

Peanut_power,

After I saw your pikes, I just got myself a 3" red pike. What do you feed it? It is pretty weak and every cichlid chases it. I don't know if it is going to survive in my semi-peaceful cichlids tank. Thanks.
