Guys, i have 2 fire eels and one is more and more hiding himself. i was wondering, if i remove the pipe he's in, what will happen. I know eels are nocturnal and need hiding places but ive seen quite same tanks where they dont have any pipes, just some wood. Will this be ok? anybody any exp with this situation?

i did the same thing with my bichir eels, got sick of never seeing their sweet faces so i removed all hiding places. they adaptedand are doing fine. id say go for it and if they start to freak just put the pipe back in.

It might be stressful for them unless you leave some other things for them to at least lean up against.

i have some pieces of wood so they can lean towards some things. any comments on higher agression towards eachother? there is 2 of them in the tank, could a removal of hiding places lead to increased agression??

I dont know about eels, but w/ cichlids you can reduce aggression by removing territories (decorations)
