Please post pics of your Royal Knives. I'd really like to see pics of baby ones roughly 3-4", but I'm up for any pics of royals you'll provide. Thanks!

i'm no expert but i've read on here and several other places that at that size its hard to distinguish royals from regular clowns. small regular clown knives have similar striping to royals. i've seen some nice pictures of bigger royals on this site. one member that comes to mind is dodgefreak his royal is a real nice fish.

Not sure if my 3" clown is royal or not... he has about 4-5 spots on each side than he gets a liter color and u can see about 5 or 6 stripes that are connected and some that are broken up.. it looks like a royal though.. dont really bother me if hes normal or not i like him he eats flakes and pellets :)

the second is about 8" and the last is about 16" at the time. he's about 19" now

I got mine when he was 12" for $17. He for the most part looked the same. Mine has had very slow growth, and is only 14" now. I got him around 4 months ago.

The local LFS in san antonio have one about 10" for about $ 85. I can pick them up in a week or two and have them ship to you. As long as you pay for shipping. I am picking up other fish they order for me in about a week or two..

I can get an 18" one in phoenix for about $90. But I'd like to grow one from a baby...like maybe a 4" one max. Thus far I've grown all mine from about 2-3". Thanks for the offer though.

That's awesome. Never seen one before. The closest I've seen would be a golden...How expensive are the albino's compared to a clown?

When they are little probably depending on the aggressiveness of the individual fish. They grow faster (and larger) than the black ghosts and it's highly likely that they will kill or severly injure the BGK within about 6 months (if you got them at the same size.)
My clown has averaged 2" of growth per month...and that's feeding sparingly. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it.
