Well, I haven't breed sharks - because I've only ever kept a single species of shark at any one time.
However, I'm very interested in the possibility of breeding sharks.
I've researched the subject enough to know - that it very possible to breed certain species of sharks in a very large home aquarium, or in a small shark pond(between 300 - 1,700 gallons - depending on species).
Here's some basic info about the possibilty
All of the best species for home aquariums are generally egg-layers
Now some these species of sharks are very prolific.
Most species lay their eggs over a 3-4 month period, usually 2-4 at a time.
Bamboo & epaulettes - can lay between 20 - 30 eggs per laying season.
Horns/bullheads - lay between 10 - 18 eggs per laying season.
Wobbegongs(snaller species - like japanese) - can lay upto 27 eggs in a season.
catsharks - usually between 10-20 eggs per season.

Smooth hounds also have been known to breed in captivity. They give live birth - and may have up to 25 pups per litter.

Nurse sharks can breed in captivity & have done so - but only in larger public aquariums(at least 100,000 gallons tanks).
They general give live birth(the young hatch inside the mother - before birth) to 20 -28 young per litter.

Some requiem sharks have also breed in captivity - like Whitetips, Blacktips, & sandbars -
but only in larger public aquariums. They general give live-birth - with of 2-10 pups per litter.
