Good aquarium stand blueprints, designs, and ideas?

Hi, I am needing a good design to build a stand for either a 125 or a 150. Any of my fellow MFKer'S got any pictures or blueprints of your DIY aquarium stand?

If you're planning on building a metal stand, I have seen some recomended stand layouts that the Japanese use on their tanks.

you could also use bolts grade 8 bolts or higher . If bolted together useing lock nuts , lock washers. It shouldnt ever come apart. And would make it much easyer to be moved if you ever decide to live someplace else. im just guessing but aprox 35 feet maybe 40 feet of some angle iron maybe 2 or 3 inch by 2 or 3 inch should be strong enuf to hodl the load. And that amount should give enuf extra uprights for added suport. Then you could add sides of wood or sheetmetal of your choice. If sheet metal i would go to a local roofing company and go in back door where they acualy bend the metal. And ask the metal; bender how much he charge for some side work done. Give sizes needed he could cut out enuf to cover all four sides of it for pretty cheap. Get angle iron from local welding shop pre cut to fit.

4 peices of 6 foot long.
8 pieces maybe 3 foot long
maybe two peices 18 inchs long for cross suports. I got it holding up alot of wheight . Bolts would only need be maybe 3/4 inch long
Anyone else got anything coment wise on my idea i just came up with in less then 5 mins?


or you cheat like i did take and get a pallet that a 180 comes on sit it on 12 or 18 cinder block be stacked 2 or 3 high . Place pallet on top cover with sheet that matchs interor ofroom instant stand. that will keep tank far enuf from wall to hang filters on back comfortably.

this is bad but my 125 sit's on cinder blocks with two sheets of 1/2" plywood under the tank. I used liquid nails to glue wood paneling and moulding to it. it sounds really ****py but it was cheap and effective. Only problem is there isn't much storage space. but i did manage to make a matching canopy out of the spare wood.
