i just found one in my gradge.
i put it outside and it came back.
im gunna keep it for a while.
how do i keep it
i have it in a nice size tub. with a few sticks and leaves, a small water bowl.
what eles do i need?
he is about 3 inches

yep small insects. . . Get some leafy twigs and prop em in the holding container.

on a side note: is it even legal to keep captive a praying mantis?
I only bring that up because its definitely illegal to kill them...

i had a praying mantis a couple years ago, they are fun to watch hunt, make sure you feed it small insects and i would recamend praying the habitat rather than a water bowl and be sure to feed it small insects, my dad fed mine a grasshopper and it only ate half if it and it was still alive half eaten! it was kinda sad

Depends on where you are I suppose, Egg masses are sold in garden mags. A lot of temperate species only live one year. Big ones will eat small frogs and lizards and I saw one eat a hummingbird once, I missed seeing it actually catch it unfortunately.

i had one once it was about 6" and one night i found a garter snake about 8" and put it in there and when i woke up the next mornin the garters head was gone! theyre awesome pets theyll eat anything they can catch i fed mine a wasp once

A Fish big enough to swallow it i'd say an arowana or some sort of large cichlid.
