any good hybrids for a 20 gallon tank. would rather have a preditory fish.

Ban him for what? Being an uneducated dumbass? Not to stir it up cuz i dont know, bro. I mean annoying yes, but is his denseheaded stupidity worth a ban? I say he fills that that 20g with some bankroll and put that towards a new tank . . . . but if he asks that 20g question again, I vote for his member title to say dumbass or something . . .

Do they really get that big? I was under the impression that they were much smaller. From what I have read and been told....6-7". About convict size. Keep in mind...I am not talking about the bloodparrot.

This is a fish forum....... somewhere the uncertain people can come and ask questions if they ain't sure !
This website is no place for slanging match or a place to pick on someone who seems to know les than someone else.
Were all here to help and advise each other this is a comunity site were we all can get along.

to be perfectly honest with you i don't belive you can hold any real monster fish in a 20 gal aquaria you could poberbly get an East african cichlid tank set up with some small species in there i think that would be your best bet matey !

I dont see why you singled me out in that post. I didnt agree for him being banned. and I didnt bring it up. I know this is here for info to be posted and traded. and I posted a thoughtful post in another forum. But seriously, yo.... like 10 threads. but if he has ten threads and it's ok with the people who run this board, than all y'all haters better stop hatin' on that guy. I'm sorry i call you a dumbass if youre still here, dogg....but like seriously, if ya got 8 or 9 threads and arent gettin a response you want then maybe you should post that question on another board if people arent giving you the correct answers....or the answers you want....

bigfish- sell all you 20 gal tanks and save for a monster tank, i think no fish deserves to live in a 20 gal, your being desperate to keep monsters, dont go that way.

there is really no difference between blood parrot and jelly bean... I have jelly's that are way too big for a 20 and why give the guy such a hard time he is just looking for advice isn't that what this forum is for? If you don't want to give him advice ignore him and go to the next one but don't attack the guy cuz he doesn't a large tank but still wants a predator... try a school of spotted puffers they will tear up small goldfish... or were you guys just upset because you could'nt come up with an answer for him?

Well if he wants to keep it gangsta, then I suggest trying to stuff 2 juvenile breeding pairs of cons in that 20g and watch how hard a couple of pipe hittin' SA's can be....it'll be bloody, thats fo sho! and cons only 5 bucks a piece or so.....

You do ask this 20 gal question alot........but I would get a 55 gallon tank at least if you want any sort of monster. You could put a variety of cichlids in that and see who lives. If they spawn you'll have your own hybrid.
If you wanna just buy one, I have a Blood Parrot and it is cool.

man do a pair of convicts and a small rubbernose pleco. during breeding times throw some goldfish in and watch the carnage. now fill the tank or bust it. Tank all you tanks and 20 bucks trade them in and get a 29 or 40 gal even . you could get a 40 with footprint of 18 by 36 for ccheap

Big fish, the main thing here is that you should not do the same post on more than one forum ok? Also you won't fit a monster in a 20g tank but there are a lot of small but agressive fish around you might like. If you want fish that eat smaller fish and stake out territories you might try some pygmy sunnys or some of the smaller african cichlids or even some of the little fw mottled sculpins that live all over western Washington, they are all quite amusing. The thing is just decide and get started, when it is up and running send us a pic or 2.
i have an idea...to get the "real feel" for puttin a monster in a 20g ..how about big fish gets a shoe box and stuffs him self inside it ...then he can post us and tell us if he would like to live in there :)
Get yourself a big tank ...screw the 20g tank..they r for goldfish and tetra's..get a 100g plys and get ur self some beasts!:D
