My new fish, bought today . Two pics without flahs and one with it

Paratilapia polleni Bleeker, 1868
Family: Cichlidae (Cichlids) , subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Order: Perciformes (perch-likes)
Class: Actinopterygii (ray-finned fishes)
Max. size: 28.0 cm TL (male/unsexed; Ref. 5674)
Environment: demersal; freshwater; pH range: 7.0; dH range: 10.0
Climate: tropical; 24 - 28°C; 13°S - 26°S
Importance: aquarium: public aquariums
Resilience: High, minimum population doubling time less than 15 months (Preliminary K or Fecundity.)
Distribution: Africa: endemic to Madagascar.

Awesome fish! I was looking for one of these guys for some time and when I actually found one in a fish store... 2" fish was at about $49.99.

Vitali you ever hear of Jon Rare? He is one of MFK's commercial sellers and can probally get you the Polleni for a nice price.

Nice fish, however the name polleni is no longer used. It is now known as paratilapia sp. 'small spot'. Bleekeri are now known as paratilapia sp. 'large spot'.

mine are pissed off all the time it seems. I had to seperate my smaller one for a while for the other fish to recouperate. hes not running **** no more tho. My bigger one bullys my jack whos got a good 3 inchs on him. Runs one my other jags around the tank and often trys his **** with my fh and uro
I had a couple of those myself lol ended up selling both for like $10 too lol. Too bad I lost the picturse I had, the ones I had had LOTS of sparkles and a jet black body.

I've got two and have always known them as pol. magna for the large spot and suma?? can't remember, for the small spot
