He looks great. Just make sure he can't escape they will get out. Make sure the Fuge is totally enclosed.
Enjoy your new buddy.

congrats! post a feeding vid!
sweet pick up get a video if possible.
i was always under the impression that octopi were awesome escape artists therefore need of properly securing the lid. however ive found lots of people dont have a lid, and dont have the water level near the top, say 2/3rds way down. spose would only work for small octopi though.
nice one by the way

ya i have a todally enclosed fuge. i post a feeding vid when i get him comfterble to eat live crabs.
I'm not sure about this but, does it have little blue rings is it about the size of a tennis ball maybe a little bigger? They can get squeeze through an opening that's the size of their eyeball maybe a little smaller. Hey, by the way if it is a blue ring you don't want to put your hands in the tank or touch it they have a deadly poison ,"I can't tell if it is or not". they are also imported by accident more than you would think.
hth and I admit that I'm guessing

Yes, unless your absolutly sure it's not a blue ring "STAY CLEAR!!!" You will die! :WHOA:
But on a better note, Congratulations on your new octopus.:headbang2
I'm not sure not even 50% but, it had enough of the look to make my hair stand on end and I had to say something. I hope I'm wrong.

it aint a blue ring 1 it is to big and two i know the diff ive seen a blue in persone and a common to and this is just another one they call common.
oh and its size of beak of what they can fit through
their beaks and their eyes are about the same size :). It's just easier to see their eyes and a lot less stressful on the critter.
Sorry, I was just trying to help.

Looks like a blue ring. I'd keep a tight lid on it. Either way, all species carry some type of venom. Most aren't any worse than a bee sting - but if it is a blue ring, you'd be dead before you realized you made a mistake.
If someone hasn't had one escape, it's only a matter of time.

I have never seen either in person (blue ring or common), but from seeing numerous videos and photos and comparing it to what i can see from your pictures, i am thinking it looks more like a blue ring than a common. Maybe if you posted a few more pics it would be easier to tell. Maybe by putting your hand in the pic so we can tell the size.
