hey guys, just got a new pike.. she's about 5"

its a johanna (experts please confirm :)), i'm hoping its a female.. anyway to tell at this size? here's a closer look..

Tis a little dark...but from what I see it looks like a johanna...lol...great pick up!! Still hard to sex at that size though! How many pikes you got now?

i've only got this one pike, they are pretty rare here in the Philippines..i was looking for a red one and this was the only one available.. i would have prefered a red tapajos but unfortunately they are rarity here :)

females have that white stripe on the dorsal right? hope mine's a female ;)

A red belly is a much more prominate trait of females in practically all pike cichlids....but you'll have to wait a bit for that. As it is, your pike is still a little small to be trying to decide what sex it is...lol.....trust me on this....its still up for grabs.
Bravo on the better pictures!! Do you think you could get some with a little more light to accent its features?

actually that pretty much what it looks like now, i'll just have to wait for its color morphs ;)
