Funny stories, odd food items, territory disputes, odd tank mates. I would like the MFK community to share their experiences with this wonderfull Native, the Micropterus Salmoides :) :) :D (noobs,it is a Largie)

Well I have a LMB that lives with a bowfin and a redfin pickerel. Hopefully I can move him and the bowfin soon though because he is starting to get pushy towards my pickerel. Mine is about 3" and eats so much I cannot believe it. It is absolutly amazing at how much this guy can eat. He can eat about 3 rosey reds.... him being 3" that is amazing.

That's why i love 'em!!!! There like dogs,so loyal, and they beg at the tank front:):):D:D And their hardiness is unmatched:D Can't wait to feed mine exotic food-stuffs,like mice, crayfish and the like:D:D:D:D:D:D Love my Micro:D:D:D:D

My bass is fairly tame now, I can touch him in the tank. Last night he thought my hand was food while I was cleaning the tank and bit me!

Mine comes half-bodylength out of the water for worms suspended above:D:D 90 gallons, and he satys in one spot, stalking. Then he sleeps at the top of my Water Sprite, like he's hidden in the bush......AMbush:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

They don't ravage the wisteria? Doesn't that make a mess?

Mine is worse than my dog when it comes to begging for food. He could hardly move from eating so much and he would still be at the front begging for food! I love my little guy and he is so fat.

Nope,my Water Sprite is very intact,he's alone so thats why i think he's not ripping stuff up!I have 'em in pots, and they reach the top of my 90(24")so they're pretty lengthy, and he just gracefully swims around 'em. All of my experiences with him havent been all good though:(:(:(:( I cannot keep anything with him that is alive,he either bullys it,or they bully him(other Bass only),so he's got 90 gallons to himself. He's 5 1/2 inches so he's comfortable right now,but an upgrade is in the future.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I have a lm and a sm together in a 125. Right now they are both around 8" maybe alittle more. The largemouth bullys the sm alot, but never enough to even split a fin. Ive gotten both of them to eat pellets, which saves money on feeding. I also feed them krill and minnows and chubs I catch from local creeks. Next summer they are going in my pond, so Ill be able to keep them even when they get big!

Fisher, that's been my point on here,Largies tankmates better be inanimate objects or he's gonna' show his dislikes for them!!!! One guy was like"i got a bowfin and a pacu with mine" i was like ok dude, tell it from the mountain,i think he left out the part that he had dividers in his tank!!!Hehehehehehe:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
