I have 2 questions, are Perch difficult to keep alive compared to Bluegill and Sunfish? also, how large of a tank would I need to house a full grown largemouth bass???

Perch are easy and not as aggressive as sunnies, I don't know how big a tank you would need for a lmb but I have caught them at over 8lbs and more than 2' long.

Largemouths are huge fish. The Florida sub-species is obviously larger. The record for NY state is 14 lbs, thats one hell of a fish.

My brother kept a L.M. Bass in a 65gal. Put it in there when it was 4''. If I remember correct, it grew to 15'' rather quickly. About 2.5 years. But it didn't weigh very much for his length. It was a glutten eater saying it was twice as bad as oscar he ever owned. He let it go saying that the width from front to back of the tank was too short for him to turn around in. Now, he's planning on doing it again with a 150gal tank.

If they get to big you can eat them.

Perch are easy to keep, and I would say at least a 100gal and that may even be to small...

As has already been stated, perch (I assume you're referring to yellow perch) are hardy and not overly aggressive.

I'd say a largemouth bass would do ok in a 180g for a long while. And as guppy has indicated, it's a no brainer as to what to do with it if and when it outgrows your tank. :p

i have a northern largemouth bass, it is done growing and is just over 14" as of now he is in only a 75g but soon he will be moving into a 125g so he can get more excersize chasing minnows

I kept a large mouth bass that I got when I had the opportunity to raid a pond that was being drained. It grew from 2 1/2'' to about 8'' until a cichlid tankmate slaughtered him out of the blue. He was fairly aggressive and was the boss of a 120g for awhile.

Hiya killer penguin, welcome to MFK, your bass isn't done growing, it has just slowed down, 5lbs @ 22" is fairly common and lunkers get much biggers.

perch are really easy to keep. this summer i had a 20 gallon tank w/ 4 largemouth bass, 5 sunfish, and 3 perch, all 1" or smaller. the perch were really timid and would usually hide unless it was feeding time

They prefer living in groups.

Yellow perch can be a blast to have in tank. I have 3 small perch (4 - 8") in a 75. They hang out with a brown bullhead (13"), a bowfin (13") and a pile of small bluegills and pumpkinseed sunfish.

Over the years I have had some decent perch. My largest yellow perch measured 13.5" and would eat medium-sized shiners out of my hand. Good stuff.
