Awesome focker! I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase. If you are getting them from where I think you are, I've personally seen his stock and they are healthy fish.

$50 for 2....I dont think that is alot at all. Especially at that size. I paid $17 for mine that was an inch and I didn't have it shipped or anything. I know you will enjoy these guys. I love mine. Hope you have plans for them when they grow up though. They get HUGE!

i have a many tanks. but i need to see where i want to put them first. i may put them in with the payaras depending there size but if there a true 8 inches they will go in my 220 with my arrow and gars and all the other fish i have in there. i will post pixs as soon as i place them in a tank.. but i cant wait until i get them.:D i have a 125 with a 7 inch red devil and a 9 inch dorado and some pikes in there that is awaiting my jardini to get big enough and he will go in there. i have a 75 with a 8 inch payara and a 6inch payara and some smaller pikes and bichirs in it and i have the 220 with 14 inch gars and arrow and 14 inch clown knife and stingray and pbass and 18 inch gold line knife. so it all depends on the actual size when i get them. they deffinetly will not go in the dorados tank. ill post pics when i give them there home.;)

Be careful where u put them. I would be hesitant to put it in with ANY of those fish. To tell u the truth mine is a big sissy. Very placid and I don't think he could hold his own against any of those fish.

thats the one fish that has eluded me.... ive caught everything here in s florida except for dang bowfin
I get bowfin for $0.99 CAD per pound :D My chinese supermarkets always get smaller ones in their shipments (6-8 inches) and I just grab those if I ever want bowfin. They're quite placid when young, but my old male (RIP @ a whopping 27.5 inches =( ) was quite a monster, beat up more/less everything I tried keeping him with, including a larger female.

Here in Florida bowfin "mudfish" are junk fish we try not to catch. We've caught many over 24" long. If you wanna catch on just put a dead shiner on the end of your line... they'll show up, if the gar don't get it first.
But after all this talk I might just put in a 12-20" in my tank... see how it get's along...

Since you seem so persistant on getting rid of your bowfin contact me by PM if all else fails. I do not have a dovi for trade nor anything else but the fish would be used for education in a public facility.
