I got 2 small (2 inch) guys living in a ten gallon tank. They will go into a 55 as soon as they are big enough. I am feeding them ghost shrimp, and frozen brine shrimp. I got the water temps at 82f.......changing 25% on a weekly basis. What do you guys think? Will that make them grow quick? :newbie:
THANKS! :grinno:

They are not really fast growers, but with a little love and tender care, they will soon be big enough to put in your 55! You can also feed them frozen beef heart (sallys brand) and frozen blood worms (sallys brand also) They will eat just about anything, but make sure its nutrious for them! :)

Genetics plays a big role in growthrates for 1 thing, temp sound good you should be seeing an inch to an inch and a half per month growth-Anne
add some frozen bloodworms too you can try krill and squid also add feeder guppies when they get bigger

Yeah I have had great luck with mine and kirll, also shrimp pellets seem to work really well. Honestly my senagals will eat anything at all. My TSN puked when I was doing a water change, and my senegal ate that. Now ive got a strong stomach... but ewwwww

I have two at 4" and today I threw in a few XL crickets and they ate one each. It was sweet they it them like snakes. I love mine but they arent very agressive in fact they are in my 55 gallon community. How big should they be before I start feeding feeder fish?

you can start them now, dont be suprise, at 4" they can definately eat feeders already.. get those juv feeder size, coz they are smaller. or get guppies, coz they are smaller size feeders compared to goldfish or mollies..
