I had to leave my beloved fish for a wedding in Ohio. So the I am supposed to fly out I Do my normal 50% water change on all my tanks. Feed the aros a little more heavy, since my brother says he will only be coming over to feed them every other day.

So the first night I get to Ohio my brother calls me and tells me my large silver aro is dead.:WHOA::( I was like WHAT!!! he was fine when I left.
I just don't understand why he died. I changed nothing with the tank and he was very healthy. I had raised him from about 3".

THEN to top it off, there was that massive earthquake that caused a statewide power outage. I had to scramble and try to get ahold of my brother (some phone service was knocked out) and have him get up to the house and hook up the generator.
By the time he got to the house, it had been about 3-4 hours without electricity.
He was being a dick cause he didn't want to take the time to make sure everything was okay.

Luckily I got ahold of a friend that also keeps fish, and he was like... Just tell me what you need me to do. He even went back to my house once the power came back on.

Thank goodness there was no more losses.

Thanks everyone.
thisbeme- I am glad your fish made it through ok.

To answer some of the earlier questions...
The silver that died was about 25". Water quality was spot on (like normal)
This one is strange, cause my brother found him lifeless on the bottom of the tank. I was told he looked alive and just to be resting on the bottom.

I think I know what happend though. I did notice a piece of a plastic plant missing. The piece was kind of sharp/pokey. I'm thinking this poked his insides when I feed himm all the smelt.

My smaller aro is looking lost. He used to follow the larger aro around the tank. since he is missing, he hangs on the bottom tryin to make friends and following around my planiceps.

Other than that, it is a big mystery to me???

You know i thought of all the problems you and everyone in the power outage areas were going through, happened to us in an Icestorm... we had little battery operated air going into all the 20 tanks until we were finally able to buy a generator. never again to be with out it. I am sorry for your loss of your big good looking arrow, Did you ever figure out what happened to him.?

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
I am still clueless as to what did him in. I still think he swallowed something he shouldn't have, and when I power feed him with smelt before I left on my trip might have put pressure on the object and did some damage to his inards.
