Friend and I went out fishing, and I was wondering what size tank would be suitable for this beast for life? Planted tank or bare? Gravel/rock or sand bottom?

prolly salmon from the looks of downriggers and noodle rods. or maybe deep water pike/muskies?

That elk should do fine in a ten gallon for life, a tiger muskie might make a good tankmate!

maybe lake trout or stripers? Really depends on where they are fishing

The boat says Almar on the side, Almar is based in Washington state and custom designs aluminum boats. Elk live in Washington so my best guess is that's where they are fishing, probably salmon.

mercury engines pack quite a punch!. The coast guard uses dual mercuries to catch up to other boats

So do the local police that patrol our inlet. They have two 250 Mercuries on the back, I would love to go for a ride on that thing. I would put that Elkfish in a bowl if I were them. I bet it popped the bag when they bagged it up. I do feel bad for it, I wonder what happened to the poor guy.
