That watercow's tank looks way to much like mine. Same gravel and same plastic plant.

Close relative, this one has a more uniform coloration and a more tapered body.

Indeed! They are different species, but very close relatives. Marbeled sleepers (not a true goby, but closely related) have the latin name of Oxyeleotris marmorata and watercows are Eleotris vittata. Those latin names could be outdated as this family of fish is constantly being scientifically revised... but, at least at one time they had these latin names. :D

I used to own a large Water Cow when I had my African Lungfish. They are kick ass fich, but those ****ers are BAD about eating ANYTHING it kinda sorta MIGHT be able to eat. Mine was about 6-7'' long, and it ate BOTH my god damn 9-10'' Dragon Fish. Mofo swam around for awhile with the dragon fish tail hanging out it's mouth.. Hmmm, so make sure to keep large fish with it. I wouldn't recommened mixing anything "snake like" - Rope Fish, Eels, Dragon Fish, etc etc...

Yeah water cows (Eleotris vittata) are cool fish, here,s a couple of pics of mine they seem to be fairly slow growers though.

I heard these are great oscar tank mates but hide a lot. Some were for sale on aquabid recently, pretty cheap!
