Thanks mate..they only had two in the aquatic shop and this one was the nicer in my opinion.Do they come out more once settled in or do they remain shy?

That's a nice pattern on that Knife. When it settles in, it'll come out a bit more. Depending on the fish, it'll take a few weeks to a few months.

Sweet patern, and by the way, ive had my clown for around a month maybe a litle more, not only did he grow atleast 1.5 inches maybe 2, but he swims around whenever he smells food, and just feels like swimmin, besides that he hovers behind a piece of driftwood.. as u see here...
i think you have a more reclusive sp. of knife than stus clown, i think the CK should come out more over time. Beautiful pattern on it. Just got to try and keep it looking that good!

that's a really nice looking knife u got there. i got one from the lfs too (like yesterday). he seems to be doing okay, except that he's just really really shy. hardly ever coming out of his cave :( im hoping he'll settle in quickly though.

They are notoriously shy fish. I miss mine he was beaten to death by some oscars who began to spawn. I wish I would have got to him in time.

It took mine about 2 months, but he never goes into hiding anymore. I got him @ about 2.5" and he was skittish as hell. Couldn't walk by the tank without him runnin' for cover. Upgraded his living arrangements (10 to a 20 gal) and he comes out all the time. Only about 4" too.
to me, 2 months sounds like forever, but i cant wait until he finally does come out of his cave. i have him housed in a 40g breeder along with an albino senegal.

i dont think my ck was ever shy but he has always been king of the tank. be careful with your tank size because they can explode in size. mine went from 4" in febuary to 14" today (november)
P.S. you will love your CK they rock:headbang2

when it gets bigger, it wont be so shy :)
