Those things are so cool. Our LFS has one and I want it. I think Levi wants it too but we don't really have a place to put it right now.

RIDAH your tank and fish are so awesome! Definetly the ultimate setup. How do you go about feeding your school? Do your ATFs bother the Payara? Goliath ATF is awesome you need an Armatus now for your collection!

Rumble, you're correct. That top pic is an Armatus, not a redtail. I would love to have that fish. One of my favorive payara pics. Oh, and the yellow fish is a PBass. Don't remember which kind though.

Look up Hydrolycus. Hydrolycus Armatus is the largest of the species. Woodysun, I believe, owns the largest aquarium grown payara in captivity. Here's a link to his pics http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9048. Awsome fish. Only problem is that it's really hard to get them off live foods.

The "yellow" one is a peacock bass, probably a mono...look at its reflection on the bare bottom ;)

ya from sandiego i am trying to get a huge red tail now so i am keeping my fingers crossed!
I dont have a tank big enough for an armatus. I am thinking without a huge tank it cant work in the long run and 300 is my limit! Hope in the future to one day have a big fat tank and have an armatus though!!!!!

I believe this 16"er belongs to a member here from the far east. Woody? Personally I like the redtails better. Love the contrast between silver and red.:)

Man that last pic is great! Most tats Ive seen tend to be bronze with a red tail, not silver with a red tail.
Ive been searching the net for fishing pictures of a redtail but havnt found any yet. Anyone else have some fishing pics of tats?
