Yes, get 2-3 one inchers and let them grow in a planted tank (live or fake). They should get about 6 inches each in a while.

Awesome fish that should do great in a 35 gallon tank (love dimmed lights and lots of plants) - looks cool and really fun to watch it hunt. I usually only see species tanks with these guys with a Pleco or two, maybe someone else will suggest some tank mates.

awesome fish. they do the "dead leaf" thing when hunting and will flip vertical to sneak up on prey as they hover... you should be very happy with this fish.

We've kept them with several different kinds of fish at the store and they seem to be able to deal with all types. Easy to feed they tend to lurk about and wait till food comes then rush out to feed. Cool fish.
