here is my biggest pl3co.. a 14" (tip to tip) gibiceps/sailfin pl3co :)
just took it out of my pond..

Very nice, im getting a juvenile for my tank and was just wondering what their growth rate is like?
Friend, think your pelco better not keep with sting ray. I really believe your ray will suffer attack from this pelco.

i'm not sure about their growth rates but this guy's been with me for 4 years and i got him at about 3" :)
but i have experienced that they grow very quickly in the pond (400 gal) comapared to those in tanks :)

thanks, i've been keeping an eye on them and so far no problems yet.. its actually just temporary anyway i just placed it in the tank to take some shots of it :)

As for growth rates, I got my sail fin gibby when he was just 1.5" long and he's grown to 12" in about 1.5 years. He's still growing and eats more salad than I do.

its diet is mostly pellets, but it occasionally gets to eat shrimp & mussels :)

its pretty mellow, mostly it gets aggressive towards the other gibby that's a little smaller than.. gets along fine with the other tankmates ;)

That looks like the one I recently lost.....Mine was just around the 17" mark when he died....They are a very beautiful pleco.....

I have a 6" gibby along side my 12" and they're pretty friendly. The 6" was introduced about three weekks ago. When they were first introduced it was ugly, Bob, the big one, was beating the heck out of Doug.
24 hours later the two hosers were getting along great.
