I dont know
My tank is crack from the cornor where the bulk head starts. To about 6 inched going out ward toward outside edge. The tank was broke because someone tightened the pipe for the overflow up too much. I need to know how to fix this. This tank is made out of 1 inch glass and is very heavy. It is also only on the bottom pane

to patch it? if thats the case then replacing the whole panel is the best bet.

to patch it the same thickness of the original glass should be used to patch a crack although it would not be a permanent fix

I dont know
for the bottom does it need to be 1/2 glass or can I get away with something smaller? Is their special glass I need to use?

You're best bet is to stick with the same thickness to avoid any potential issues. As far as glass goes, shop around, but $450 doesn't sound absurd for an 8' piece of glass.

the bottom of the tank is what holds the bulk of the weight so yeah it should be the thinkness it originally is, and yes you'd have to replace it and then re drill the overflow holes
