I found out that the US fish and wildlife has not recieved any petitions on the change to the laws on the asian aros. Has anyone sent this petition http://www.petitiononline.com/AsianAro/petition.html
to them?
I emailed them the link.

US is a pioneer in R&D in every feild. Permitting the importation would help study this extinct species and give more value by increasing its popularity and breeding.
HAHA! Extinct?? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!?

I know. It does sound like a bunch of retards. This is my favorite...
"They are so pretty. I feel good when I see them. My loins ache to have them brought into our country. Who cares if they are almost extinct in the wild setting of Asia because they breed many different hybrid, cross bred species now."
or this one:
509. gamini I would like to learn fish breading (get a cook book! :))
or
412. Rick Winkler pass it, we get them through canada anyways.
This was my favorite:
USA pride themselves a "democratic society" but by putting a ban on the CITES approved farms for Asian Arowanas does not practice what the country believes in. Injustice being done to fans of Asian Arowana who happen to be residing in USA, so call "land of strong advocate of human rights!". Where is the "rights" ?
Not being able to own an endangered species is an "injustice" and a violation of "human rights"? :screwy:
Here's how the democracy works: The Endangered Species Act was enacted by a Congress and President that were elected through the electoral process. The elected President and his appointees oversee the administration of the Endangered Species Act, including the listing of Asian arowanas in 1976, and the adoption of regulations and policy governing the enforcement of the Endangered Species Act.

LOL...
Chances are, if the general public is involved, 90% of the responses will be from idiots, because studies have statistically shown, 90% of peopel in this country are idiots.

Which reminds me that 72.8% of statistics are made up on the spot. :D

and that recent cancer studies on rats proves that cancer studies on rats causes cancer in rats.
If they were legal, they'd have to lay off a bunch of WCO's and they'd loose out on the $250,000.00 fine for selling them. It's all about the money.

Well, we cloned Dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, maybe that is what they are talking about.
My favorite:
I support the petition. I guess the US government is worried that the Arowana keeper might release the fish into the US river. As everybody knows that the Arowanas eat other fish, and finish off the original habitats in their river. Worry no more because all imported Arowana from the breeding farm carries microchip and the US govenrment can keep track of who is the owner of the fish should they caught it in the US river. The owner will be responsible for what he did. When come to think about the investment the people put up to get an Arowana, only nincompoop will release it to the US river. I think, the government should legalize the importation of Asian Arowana into the US. Only the congresmen with iq lower than I.D.10.T would say no to the importation.

That part of the quote was hilarious, but the rest, well not so much. :D
