If you saw my other thread, I got offered two monster loaches at only $21.99

I bought one, and it colored up so nicely I had to get the other one. These are in my Oscar growout tank, and the new one is even bigger! What a steal! I would put these in with my bass and Pacu, but I am concerned about bioload and also, they would both fit in his mouth, or at least I am sure he would think so. They are happy to be together again!

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I talked to a guy at an lfs today and he said it is getting harder if not illegal to import really large ones. Anyone know anything more about this?

The biggest I've seen them for sale at the wholesaler is around 4" standard length or around 5" total length. And here's an article on the clown loach trade. http://rmbr.nus.edu.sg/biodiversitii/bio/aquarium_more.html#clown

Here is my new monster, with me holding a bottlecap for scale. The fish is at least a couple inches from the glass, so you get the idea.

Nice pickups. I can't wait for mine to get that big. I'll be waiting a while though.

I would consider a 5" clown loach for ten dollars a steal. It's going to take those little ones a year plus to reach that size.

Great pick up ewurm!!
