Hi there....
My lfs has one small jardini (4" - 5") for sale and i was wondering if is there any way or guidelines to pick jardini?
How to tell wether this jardini will be grow as a beautiful and colorful specimen?
Any pics of small (before) and larger (after) specimenes will be gratefully appreciated...

if there is only one, there is not much to choose from. im no aro expert but i'd say the fins look good, he swims well, overall look is good, hungry, not putting the fins to the body etc.
Have them feed the fish in front of you. You'll know that he eats and what to feed him.

I like small jardini's that have dark fins with distinct spots and a darkish body with as much contrast in the scales as possible but that's my personal preference.
However, this isn't how I chose mine. Like previously mentioned, I picked the healthiest looking 1 of the bunch with the best body shape and I figured that the color would come in time.

See which one is the most active, and swims all over the tank rather than the bottom. The finnage also tells a lot about young jardinis. If there is a crescent on the tail fin of a light color and the rest is very dark, then it's usually good. Just check and judge for yourself.

what i meant by 1 is only at 1 LFS...i could always pass that one if i found him not good enough... jardini is quite often seen for sale in here if not always available...
just need a guidance to find a 'perfect' specimen :)
one that i saw has dark fins w/ light color 'scribbles' in the fin...the body looks good...i might try to come back at the store and ask if they can feed him or move him so i can see more clearly...
anyone have pics of 'perfect' quality small jardini? please post..
