I am wondering what the smallest fish you guys keep with your Arowana, I am about to move my 9inch sliver and put it in my 240g show tank. Most all of the fish in there won't fit in its mouth but a couple could(mainly baby cichlids) . Now my roomates like to feed it goldfish and watch it eat but with the last batch of golds their were 3 left and he wouldn't eat them for a month now. He will go after feeder guppies and live shrimp.

but what is the smallest fish you have with ur aro that he won't eat and will he eat other fish of that size.

Smallest fish in my tank is a 5" royal pleco. As they get bigger they generally won't eat smaller fish, ie, when they are 2' long, they generally don't try to eat the neons.

If you keep the aro well-fed on non-live food it should be fine as it won't see the smaller fish as a food source. I have a green (18+") and a jardini (16+") in my monster comm. Smallest fish are my CL which are around 4" now..

I have a 1 foot silver and have several clown loaches that are 1.5 - 2.5 inches and no problems. Funny though if I put a rosy in about the same size and he nabs it right away....

I have a 20-22 inch Black Aro with a 2-2.5 inch female Convict and 2 males convicts around 3-3.5 inches, the tank is a 300gal (30in tall). Aro eats market shrimp, pellets, and peas, I have never feed it live food.
