Our beautiful 30" Silver Arowana was found dead in his 700 gal aquarium first thing this morning. No apparent reason for his death, all water parameters great and all of his tank mates are fine, please join us for a moment of silence.... T.F.W.

that sucks....maybe it died from old age? how old was the aro?

Not sure, we've had him for about 6 years. A customer traded him in. I'd guess 10-15 years old.
Sorry for your loss. He may have jumped and hit his head, I had lost a large aro this way before - brain swelling.

Thanks guys, he was my boy! He'd eat out of my hand (sometimes he'd eat the hand... those teeth HURT!) and never bothered his tank mates. Just a real chill fish R.I.P

Thanks. The tank is walled in and difficult to access, so unlikely but not impossible.

What I meant was: DeLgAdO asked how big he has when you clearly stated he was 30".:naughty:
Sorry for your loss. I know the feeling, last month I lost my aro in the same way. I miss my aro also. I still have teeth marks on my fingernails from feeding him.:(

Here is a old pic, 4 or 5 years old. It's the only descent one I could find. The parrots are long gone and the tank is full of large S.A. cichlids.
