Pics 1 - 4 are of a courting pair of reds.
Pics 5 - 6 are some pretty big old silvers, knife fishes, feifeng etc. Some of the silvers in this tank are deformed.
Pics 7- - 10 are a mix tank of community aros. Notice the gold has a particular hunch.
Pics 11- 14 are of a 10+ year old gold that has a weird head. Sort of a bullet head effect.

I wish they would. The pair has been going through the rituals of pairing over & over for months now but so fair zilch. Perhaps it's time to call Pfizer for some viagra hehehehe. :D

Yeah unusual head shape. Very rounded. Also very lethargic aro. More or less just hovers mid water all the time.

Not a public aquarium so to speak. No worries, lots of quality reds in Indo. :)

Awesome fish and pics bro! It's nice to see an aro keeper with other tankmates that STs, endlis, parrots and FFs. Maybe if you come to Taiwan in about 10 years my tanks will be looking that good too ... we can only dream!

Once again Chaos, very very impressive tanks... amazing aro collection! TY for sharing.
Btw, just to ask... in these tanks, did your friend ever keep?:
- 'Giant Gouramy' community... (1 or 2 RedTails and many other White/Albino giant goramys?).
- Peacock bass community tank
- RedTail Giant Goramy w/ a community of cyprinids/ barbs
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tanks kind of look familiar now?... and perhaps may have seen some earlier past pics of them before on another site??

There are many other tanks that were not photographed that does contain some of the above mentioned. Will take some pics the next time. It is however unfortunate to say that Giant Gouramis regardless of redtail or otherwise are no longer popular & most of the time not really wanted.

It was the aim to show what aro lfs here look like to hobbyist in the states who hopefully would one day be able to see as well as own aros legally there. :)

It's hard to say really. Sometimes it takes only a few days..sometimes courting continues but nothing happens...variance would depend on external factors as well such as temperature, season, water chemistry etc. Sometimes when u least expect it, the males swallows the eggs even though it's fertile. There is a certain amount of luck involved as well. :D

Let see the prices on those aros! Thanks for the awsome pics.
Prices range from about USD500 approx. after conversion till anywhere in the region of USD15K for the juv. golds in that pic. Reds in the region of USD500 to USD5K. Those are the normal prices for juv. at 12" or less. Sometimes there are some discounts given. This is meant to give overseas hobbyist a rough idea of what locals pay in Asian aro producing countries. Some say that hobbyist locally pay a lot less then what overseas buyers are paying. I can say this is not entirely true. I can also tell you guys that hobbyist in Japan for instance do pay more but they reserve the right to pick a selection out of the crop before the rest are released hence the premium. :)
