Well I love arowanaas and I just had to ask, Is there one that would live happily in a 4-5 foot aquarium? If not, I wouldnt want to have a fish that wouldnt be happy. I am getting more into oddball and predatory fish now, and I just stared at a tank of silvers for over an hour at my LFS.

SO Is there one?

All I would have is a 110 gallon.

I've always heard that the min tank size for an adult silver is 240gal. I guess thats so you could have tankmates for him. A LFS near me had 1 in a 125 and it was about 24" it seemed to be just fine even had a cpl other fish in there with him.

135 are generally a 6 foot tank. A silver or black won't do well in that tanks size for life. They could do alright as long as it is at least 24" in depth, but that wouldn't be for life.

I dont necessarily mean a silver, are there any others that get smaller?

Aussies don't get as big, but still need about the same size tank. The jardini is the smallest of the group maxing at around 90 cm or 36". Still wouldn't do a tank smaller than 6' long.

No. They will all get too big for a tank of that size. Some will say it's ok, but they need some room to swim around.

okay, so none would be hapy in my tank. Thank you, hopefully when I have more money I can get a larger aquarium.

HUGE props to you for taking the time to check, and to make sure that you can properly house one of these beautiful fish!
