I would say the dovvi. But each individual fish is different pound for pound. I once had a strawberry tetra that I used to cycle a tank kill a jack demopsey of equal size(about 1") If you really want a mean fish get a breeding pair of convicts. IMO they are the most suicidal thing when protecting thier fry.

How big are the jags? some fish wont get fully agro untill they grow up a bit.
 
It depends on the fish.

I agree with rally...depends on the fish.

What size tank do you have? That could play a big role in if you should pick up a dovii or a rd.
 
The tank is a 125.
I have 11 Jags in there.
All of them have grown from about 1.5" to around 3".
I KNOW they are still very young, but goodness, I've had them for months and they are still babies.
I heard that they won't be able to live in this situation together, when they grow up, but they are the slowest growing fish I've ever had.
 
mmm check your water quality. Jag's generally grow pretty quickly. Mine is growing like wildfire and is very aggressive. Has half of the tank (125) to himself and there a 4 Red Terrors, a Butterkoferi a Synspilum and a Chocolate cichlid. Actually the Chocolate Cichlid is the only one who will stick up to him. They lip-lock quite a bit but don't get too serious. The chocolate for some reason will only do it with him though he doesn't mind the other fish at all. I think he just knows that the jag a pr!@k lol. Oh and I'm not planning on having all these fish in there full grown either. So please don't start lecturing me :) They are all about 4 inches right now.

You must not be feeding the jags as they are one of the fastest growing fish there are. I raised a female form 1 in. to 5 in 2 mos. If they are not growing feed them doramin, hakari, & bloodworms. the growth due 30% water changes once a week. & they'll grow like weeds. the growth slows at around 8 in. but even then still pretty consistent. Oh yeah with 11 there is also the stress factor. try just 4. you can't put anything else in there. Or due you want to trade the fish for something else? I'd keep the managuense(jags).
 
I agree with the others. Get rid of half of the jags that you have, you will eventually need to get rid of a couple more after that. And just vary their diet and do weekly water changes. You jags should be growing very quick.
