I would add some like brick around the whole thing so thatit cannot bow out anymore that might help.

:iagree: Frame it at or just over the original size and set it in :) That could actually turn into something you like much better than what you already have to LOOK at.. Specualting that it is just a tub :)

Wrap it with glass fiber packing tape or wire like aluminum electric fence wire.
If you feel risky and have little lose (if water comes out), i would just leave it.
You have to expect the sides to move outwards to some degree.
How bad are they bowing out?

No!! Don't leave it. I use to have two 50gal rubbermaid storage bins in my basement, half full. They bowed out and I left them and then they broke at the bottom and leaked. Luckily I caught it quickly but this could have been pretty bad if I hadn't. Build a wooden frame around it or simply get one of those fabric ropes with the metal tightening latch. The kind they use to tighten boats onto trailors when traveling. I don't know the name of them.

I'd also say wooden frame. You can make it look all purdy and stuff too.:D

They are called ratchet straps.

I used a 50gal rubbermaid. To keep the sides from bowing all I did was tie a rope to two shower hooks. Ghetto yes, but it got the job done.
