Can a red eared slider live in a 55 gallon tank for life????

It's been 15 minutes...
And no, get a 40G breeder for starters or a 90G for life. It needs a bigger footprint than a 55G has to offer

how big is the turtle and how old
He wants a tank he can keep it in for life, so the age and size is mostly irrelevant. A 90G should be the minimum for 1 adult.

not if the turtle is older, its growth may have gotten stunted if it was kept in a 30 gallon tank without proper lighting.
so if its stunted it most likely wont get very much bigger

i have herd with fish that they die when they get stunted. he is already WAY to big for the tank. he is nearly full size. 8 inches is pretty big. What about 75 gallons with over filtration. I will also do lots of water changes.
