I was at aquascape online yesturday and I saw a batch of 2.5 inch orino cichla for sale. These had 2 spots instead of 3 and a black horizontal line goes all the way through the tail. I never saw a black line go through the tail like that on orinos at that size and never saw 2 spots like that before.

Could this be a newly collected species ?

If its not new then are there photos of 2 spot adults out there ?

Are they orino's or mono's or maybe some new species ?

Whats your opinion ?

The line through the tail is what confuses me as to whether they are orino's.

Can anyone post their large adult 2 spot cichla's if they are out there ?

I'm curious about these guys.

Right... I see what your saying now about the black line extending all the way through the tail fin.. I just went back and looked up the photo's I took of the Orino's I got that was a lot like these but they don't have the black line through the tail fin like these do..

I wonder if these are Orino Mono hybrids or something??

To be completely honest I would probably say hybrid. But this is a guess from a picture with the bass being too small to truly ID them.
